Laboratory chiller

A laboratory chiller  is  a laboratory device  that absorbs heat from a liquid by applying a cooling cycle or removes it by vapor compression. In the next step, this liquid can be circulated through a heat exchanger or equipment necessary to cool the air. As a required by-product, the cooling process produces waste heat that must be vented to the environment or, for greater efficiency, recovered for heating purposes. Things to consider when choosing chillers include performance, efficiency, care, and the impact of the environment on the product’s life cycle .

How to choose a laboratory chiller:

Choosing a  laboratory chiller  will be related to the economic aspects of its use. The optimal size of the laboratory chiller depends on the amount of heat that is formed in the environment, along with the added power that it should have in maintaining the temperature under different conditions. Usually, the chiller manufacturer provides the user with information about the heat removal method .

Other things to consider :

  • If the ambient temperature of the cooling area is above 20°C, add 1 % to the calculated power for every 5 °C above 20 °C .
  • If it is operating at 50 GHz, increase the calculated power amount by 20% .
  • If the line voltage is continuously below the permitted voltage, or if your workplace is located at a high altitude, add 10% to the calculated power .
  • The need for more cooling in the future or a change in the heat output of the current unit .

Circulating chiller for laboratory

This type of laboratory chiller is specially designed to be used in laboratory environments or pilot plants with conditions similar to the laboratory .

Apart from considering space problems and pump performance prerequisites, they also take into account the available demand in order to create minimum generated noise .

These circulating laboratory chillers are produced as compact and ready-to-install tools for cooling liquids in one liquid .

They use water or water with additives in liquid form (in other words, cooling medium) .

Laboratory circulation chillers have the same structure and function as circulation chillers for cooling water. Depending on their design, it is possible to use them in the form of both closed and open models. As a result, they are suitable for open cooling baths that are often used in laboratories .

Whenever cooling capacities as low as 300 W to approximately 2 kW are required, laboratory circulating chillers are used to cool laboratory instruments, extraction and distillation systems, but also in spectroscopes, X-ray equipment, and Many other applications are also used .

Due to the compact design of these devices and the easy way of use, laboratory circulating chillers can now be used in many different industrial applications .
